School of Inner Beauty

Oct 05, 2023

I have recently been selected as a teacher for the
“School of Inner Beauty”, which is organized by my dear colleague and fellow mental health advocate – Camille Macres.

Here is the story behind it, written by her:

“5 years ago, during a 4-day silent retreat, I was awoken in the middle of the night by a voice (the voice of God?) that said:

“Women need to know their inner beauty.”

While I didn’t feel personally qualified to lead women through the deep spiritual and emotional healing journey I’d been on the 2 years before that, I knew plenty who were, so I invited them to each teach a week of a 3-month program that I called The School of Inner Beauty.

Unbeknownst to me at the time, this would become my best, most fulfilling and life-giving contribution to the world and rock the 75 women’s lives who joined our tribe.

The idea of “finding your tribe” has become so overused in the last 5 years, I sort of don’t like using it, and yet…

We live in a pseudo-connected world that is starving for deep, enriching community like we had in our tribal times. The number of people who live in social isolation has doubled from 20 to 40% in the last several years and is as serious a threat to your health as smoking and obesity.

The School of Inner Beauty was an antidote to this staggering reality. Our tribe of women journeyed through life with one another, sharing our teachings with one another, our ups and downs, working through issues together in just 3 months that many of us had struggled with alone or in therapy for years with little progress.

It turns out that with mentorship, sisterhood, and support, we can become who we really are… in a way that is so much more fulfilling and satisfying than drudging through it alone or trying to get our men to understand us or where we’re coming from (god love them, they try so hard).

Where was I in my story…

I met Craig during the second session and then soon after we completed the live event, I became pregnant…

Just like that, in the blink of an eye, all of my childhood dreams had come true, and while I give the credit to the School of Inner Beauty for helping my biggest dreams come to fruition, the dream of this program that was the School of Inner Beauty slipped into the background while I learned to navigate the balance of new motherhood, a relationship and producing my paleo TV show.

I’ve been doing some very deep healing work since moving to Maui last summer, and what kept coming up was how much I needed to start the School of Inner Beauty program up again, yes for other women, but also for me.

The last 3 years of motherhood have been so rich for me in so many ways, but one thing that has really suffered, especially moving as much as we have, is my deep connections to other women.I discovered the importance of authentic sisterhood during the program and that is as important to me as anything else I did for my health, yet also seems to be the first to go when life gets busy.

About 6 weeks ago, I committed to starting the School of Inner Beauty up again, not sure if it would have the magic swirling about that it did the first time around.
Apparently the pulse is still strong, maybe stronger, to gather women together to learn, grow and share in the journey, because in less than 2 weeks, I gathered 18 POTENT TEACHERS in the realms of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health to teach the upcoming class.

We have a free “Unlock Your Inner Beauty” Workshop starting July 9th and we’re also looking for a group of women to be our Beauty Ambassadors and share about the upcoming workshop.

I hope you will join me!
